Is There A Disruption In Sensation Following A Thigh Lift?
Added on 16th August 2019
The sensory nerves will be damaged during a thigh lift. It depends partly on where the nerves are located as to the distribution of the sensory loss.
Where Nerve Disruption Can Take Place
Often surrounding the scar itself the sensation is disrupted, but this can be distributed down the legs, further down from the site of the surgery. Rarely these nerves are permanently damaged. The nerves can take 12- 18 months to fully remove.
Improving Nerve Disruption Post-thigh Lift
Patients need to be able to massage the scarring, and also take recommended steps to improve these things themselves. We would recommend taking a look at our vlog regarding how to improve scarring and sensation following your thigh lift surgery.
