Personal Profile: Mr Humayun Khan
Mr Humayun Khan is a Consultant Plastic and Aesthetic Surgeon with over 30 years of surgical experience.
Mr Khan has over 30 years of experience in Surgery overall, with approximately 17 years’ experience in Plastic Surgery and he has been a Consultant for over 12 years. Mr Khan undertook Plastic Surgery training in a number of Hospitals including, Royal Preston Hospital, St. James Hospital Dublin and St. Andrews Hospital Broomfield. Mr Khan was a Consultant General Surgeon in Pakistan for five years and he also trained in General Surgery on the South Manchester surgical training rotation. Mr Khan has worked and trained in a wide variety of surgical fields, including burns, paediatric surgery, thyroid surgery, urology and war zone surgery in Peshawar, on the Afghan Pakistan border.
Mr Khan has achieved a number of Specialist qualifications including, Plastic Surgery (FRCS Plast), General Surgery (FRCS) and he also studied for a Masters in Aesthetic Surgery (MSc Aesth) which he completed at Queen Mary University London in 2013. Mr Khan was awarded a Merit award in my MSc dissertation in Breast Augmentation and Breast Reduction Surgery. Mr Khan is on the GMC and Irish Specialist Register for Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery.
In addition, Mr Khan has been a Supervisor Trainer in General Surgery and he is also a Clinical and Educational Supervisor for surgical trainees in Plastic Surgery. Mr Khan is an honorary lecturer at Manchester University in the Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine MSc.
Mr Khan’s NHS practice is based at South Manchester University Hospital and it encompasses all general plastic surgery, such as scar revisions and skin cancer. He performs plastic and burns reconstructive surgery in both paediatrics and adults. Mr Khan is also a core member of the Multidisciplinary team at South Manchester Hospital, wherein discussions are undertaken regarding the management details of patients who are having skin cancer surgery performed in the vicinity of the South Manchester area.
Mr Khan has considerable experience in breast surgery, having undertaken over 300 cases varying from breast augmentation, breast reductions, mastopexy and also gynaecomastia surgery. Mr Khan also has a substantial amount of experience with respect to prominent ear correction surgery, having performed over 100 cases.
Mr Khan’s special interests include burns, complex wounds and scar reconstruction. General Paediatric plastic surgery and ear correction surgery. Breast reductions, breast augmentation, body contouring and liposculpture. Skin cancer and advanced Moh’s reconstructive surgery.
