Can I Improve The Scars Following A Thigh Lift?
Added on 16th August 2019
The scars of a thigh lift can take some time to settle. Initially, they are red and pink, and then they will fade. It can take 12-18 months for the scarring to improve, and one of the best ways to support this recovery is to massage the inner thigh surgery scars regularly.
How To Improve Inner Thigh Surgery Scars
Silicone strips and silicone gels can be used to reduce the redness from thigh surgery scars. In rare cases, Mr Ross will recommend laser therapy to heal the scarring, but this is for a limited number of cases. A combination of silicone strips, and massaging the wound is the key to improving the scarring following thigh lift surgery. Deep lymphatic massages are also key in helping lymphatic vessels, which will be discussed in further detail post-opt.
If Thigh Lift Scarring Doesn’t Heal
If scarring does not heal, which is rare, a scar revision would be possible, however, this is not considered for most patients, and the recommended post-op recovery practices are proven to work for most cases. Scar revisions would only be considered once you have reached 12-18 months post-surgery.
