Will I Still Have a lot of Scar Tissue After Breast Reduction Surgery?
Added on 12th August 2019
In this video, we will explore the topic of scar tissue after breast reduction surgery and just how much is likely to be removed when you go through the surgery.
Can I know beforehand about the removal of scar tissue after a breast reduction?
We can let you know how much scar tissue after breast reduction has been removed as we weigh this before going ahead with the surgery. This gives us a better indication of how much we can remove. This also occurs when the tissue is sent pathology examination.
The amount of tissue in the breasts doesn’t necessarily determine the size of the breasts, but it is suggested that the tissue amounting to around 100cc relates to a cup size. For a smaller breast size, the 50cc is relevant to a cup size.
What will the results look like?
To get an indication of how much scar tissue will be removed after breast reduction, it’s important to look at the results of other patients and case studies. Another factor that determines how much scar tissue is removed is the back width of individual patients as this will impact the final results of the surgery as well as the consistency of your natural breasts. In some cases, patients can have very dense breasts which have a high volume of tissue when it’s not expected. There will be a range of results that you can refer to via our breast reduction case study page.
Discussing matters in your consultation
During your consultation, it’s important to run through your expectations of size and where your breasts currently sit on your chest. This is to make sure that when your scar tissue after breast reduction is removed, the results show that your breasts are in proportion with your body.
