When Does The Swelling Go Down Following Thigh Lifting?
Added on 16th August 2019
Swelling and recovery all depends on the extent of the scars and the amount of fat that’s been removed and your natural healing process, which varies with everyone as everyone heals differently.
Mobilisation After A Thigh Lift
Generally Mr Ross recommends immediate mobilisation of the area as no drains are used, and generally the patient will go home the day after the surgery, and with some patients they can leave the hospital on the day.
Timeline For Swelling After A Thigh Lift
Mr Ross will see his patients a week after surgery and usually the scar will be inflamed and there will be some bruising. Over the course of the next few weeks the bruising will reduce and Mr Ross doesn’t tend to overly use compression garments with thigh lifts, but overall something tight/ snug can help with discomfort. It’s always best to discuss with with your doctor beforehand.
Around the 6 week phase, Mr Ross will encourage the patient to begin massaging the scars, but it can take up to 12 to 18 months for the scars to fully settle.
