With liposuction, the time of recovery depends on the number of areas that are being liposuction, and also the amount of fat being liposucted and also the number of incisions that are being used.

Fat Removal Determines Swelling After Liposuction 

In terms of the amount of fat, someone who has had a number of litres removed will take a number of weeks to recover, whereas someone who has had isolated fat deposits removed may be fine to go back to work within 24-48 hours.

Additional Procedures Increase Swelling After Liposuction 

The procedures performed alongside the liposuction, such as abdominoplasty, often dictate the length of recovery time more than the liposuction itself.
