When Can I Fly Following Liposuction?
Added on 16th August 2019
The time in which it is safe to travel via flying by plane is highly dependent on the procedure you have had done, and also the type of anaesthetic that was used. Each treatment has its own recovery timescale which will also vary between patients. For example the time in which a patient who has had liposuction is able to fly, may differ to a patient who has undergone a mummy makeover.
What May Increase The Risks?
General anaesthetic has increased risks when flying within 4-6 weeks following your surgery. It is also essential to discuss the pros and cons of surgery if you are planning on flying, where you are flying to, and how long you will be away.
Treating Patients Who Have Travelled
Here at UK Aesthetic, we do have patients who fly in for surgeries such as liposuction. Although it is not entirely recommended to travel before and after your treatments, prepare with adequate hydration, and take the same procedures on the flight as one would if they were at risk of blood clots forming whilst in the air.
For More Information on Flying After Treatments
These are all details best discussed during a consultation with the UK Aesthetic team, as we can tailor our recommendations at your discretion.
