What Is Projection?
Added on 16th August 2019
Definition: Breast projection is how far a patient’s breast implants extend in the forward direction of their chest.
All implants can be designed in different sizes and shapes, and for round implants which were the first implants to be manufactured on the market and used in patients, these implants can be changed in width. In projection the width equals the height and because the implant is round, when the projection is the distance out from the patient’s chest, if we have a very low projective implant, the height of the implant is quite low and it’s quite flat. Whereas similar implants at a similar volume, the high projected implant is much narrower with less height and more projection and one can see the difference between the two and these can be used in different ways and for different reconstructive and aesthetic/ plastic surgery manners to create the ideal breast shape.
