What are round implants?
Round implants are a type of implant that have the same width and the same height. It has a symmetrical appearance, shaped in a round fashion for consistency in how it looks. The purpose of round implants are to provide volume to your breasts rather than change its shape.
Round implants were one of the first types of implants on the market. With research and technology advancements over time, the cosmetic industry have been able to develop more anatomical implants.
How can they benefit me?
Unlike other breast implants, round implants depend on gravity for its shape. As gravity impacts the round implants, it’ll take a more anatomical shape over time. By inserting the breast implant under the breast muscle, the top half of the muscle will squeeze the top of the breast implant, forming an anatomical shape.
Over time, anatomical implants have been developed which can be more individualized to patients. This is because they formed and shaped based on the height, width and projection of the breast.
There can be both advantages and disadvantages to having round implants during your breast augmentation surgery.
