When Would it be Possible For Returning to Work After Rhinoplasty?
Added on 11th September 2020
Many patients like to be well-prepared before heading into surgery, and understand the timescales of their recovery. One burning question you might have in particular is when it would be possible for returning to work after rhinoplasty. In this vlog, we’ll go into more detail about the recovery process and the timescale you should expect to return to work following your procedure.
Recovery After a Rhinoplasty
Following your rhinoplasty surgery, we’ll provide you with the next steps of recovery to ensure it’s as smooth as possible. Once the surgery is completed, you will have the option to either return home on the same day or you’re more than welcome to stay in the hospital overnight.
After your surgery, we’ll normally review your results around a week after. During this time, you’ll have a plaster of paris applied to your nose to help support it and ensure it can recover as well as possible.
Your review after a week will normally involve the plaster of paris being removed but we will assess this beforehand. Around this time you are likely to see/feel some discomfort of residual swelling and bruising around the face and eye region, but this will be expected.
Timescales for Returning to Work After Rhinoplasty
Depending on the type of work that you do, we advise that you should be able to go back to work around the time that you have your plaster of paris removed. It’s just important to be aware that the area will still be tender and sensitive.
Try your best to avoid knocking your nose or engaging in any contact that could interfere with the results of your nose. This is particularly relatable to any contact sports if you engage regularly in any. It’s best to avoid this for the first weeks of recovery so you feel more comfortable returning to work after rhinoplasty.
For any further details about the surgery itself, please feel free to browse our rhinoplasty surgery page. There have also been previous patients that have gone through the surgery and you can see some of their results on the rhinoplasty case studies page.
