Can I Improve The Scars Following Bodylifting?
Added on 7th May 2021
The scars from body lifts go all the way around the body. They’re usually just above the pubis and they run along the flanks and then around the buttock area. The area that takes the longest to heal is the v of the cleft of the buttock because there’s obviously more tension as you’re sitting on there. It can often stretch a little more too. The scars are red and heaped and often turn pink, then fade over the course of a number of weeks but certainly it takes 6 weeks to get an idea of how the wounds have healed.
How To Improve The Appearance of Scars
At 6 weeks it’s all about massage and helping yourself to fade them. That also helps the sensation to come back in my opinion. Looking at silicone gels and silicone gel strips can also help. It is very rare to recommend laser treatment in the healing phase but that’s another option. There’s also lymphatic massage that we have used and it does help to open some lymphatic channels and we can talk about the pros and cons of that, but massage really is the key. We need to be able to show you how to do that massage which is really good after the six week period.
