This involves reshaping the breasts and repositioning the nipple to ensure a more aesthetically pleasing result. In some cases, the nipple is repositioned whilst reducing the shape of the breasts at the same time.

One of the main concerns for patients having a breast reduction at a young age is the scarring that occurs after a breast reduction surgery. However, if it is found that the size of your breasts is causing issues such as neck pain, back pain, and general everyday life, having breast reduction surgery is an option to improve everyday life.

The first case study shows a young patient that has relatively large breasts; emptiness and large areolas are visible. Postoperatively, we can see that the volume of the breasts has decreased considering the amount of tissue that would have been removed. 

As a result, there would be a change in posture and reduction of neck and back pain. It’s not guaranteed that this will occur but it’s likely that you’ll feel of symptoms to do with these issues after having breast reduction surgery. 

There are also aesthetic improvements visible with the areolas appearing smaller and higher up the breasts. This would be considered a benefit for younger patients that are considering breast reduction at a young age. Even though there could be breastfeeding complications in the future, positive outcomes tend to outweigh the negatives.
